Sonia Ruiz grew up in Brewster, graduating from Brewster High School and Wenatchee Valley College with a Medical Transcription certificate.  She lives in Bridgeport with her son.  She began her career at Three Rivers Hospital in June of 2006 as a Medical Transcriptionist, then in May of 2007 she became the Medical Staff Secretary and Credentialing Coordinator.  Sonia also heads the Staff Activities Committee which sponsors several fundraisers each year to benefit staff activities.

Lenora Page nominated Sonia, stating:  “Sonia is a team player.  She goes above and beyond when it comes to credentialing the doctors.  She also is such an asset in planning the employee activities.”

When asked why she likes working at Three Rivers Hospital, Ruiz said:  “I enjoy my interactions with the Medical Staff and everyone else in the hospital.  My job is not the same thing every day; never ending challenges are brought to my desk.”

Staff members have the opportunity every month to nominate an “Employee of the Month” with an “Employee of the Year” chosen at the end of the year.  In appreciation of their work, each Employee of the Month is awarded:

• A vest with the Three Rivers Hospital logo
• A reserved parking space for the following month they are nominated, and
• Their Employee of the Month certificate proudly displayed in the hospital lobby
