JOLYNN
SERRANO
Employee
of
the Month
for
JULY
2012
JoLynn
Serrano began her career at Three Rivers Hospital in 2005 as a Lab Technician. After Serrano graduated from
high school in Brewster, she joined the military. During her time in the United States Army she was trained
as a Lab Technician. Serrano has two
children, a son 8 years old and a daughter 5 years old, and lives in
Bridgeport.
Staff
members have the opportunity every month to nominate an “Employee of the Month”
with an “Employee of the Year” chosen at the end of the year. Jeremy Vandelac, Three Rivers Hospital Lab
Supervisor, will receive a $10 gift certificate for nominating Serrano. Vandelac said: “JoLynn is a true asset to our facility. Daily
she goes above and beyond, helping other departments without being asked, and a
lot of times without thanks. She is
quick to respond to patients, and is loved by all her patients. Lately she has been talked about in high regard
by several patients, stating that she is the best Lab Tech that has ever taken
their blood. She rarely, if ever,
requires someone else to draw a patient, which is great. Her customer service and friendliness on the
phone is astounding! She is an excellent
person to talk to patients because of her interaction skills. Because of all of her quality abilities, the
hospital lab is known as one of the best around.”
When
asked why she likes working at Three Rivers Hospital, Serrano said: “I like the
people I work with, but most of all, I like working in every department of the
hospital, not just in the Lab”.
In
appreciation of their work, each Employee of the Month is awarded
- A vest with the Three Rivers Hospital logo
- A reserved parking space for the following month they are nominated, and
- Their Employee of the Month certificate proudly displayed in the hospital lobby
